About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of this programme is to enable students to function as a health literacy coach within their community, in the area of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, by enhancing members' awareness and understanding of diabetes and describing strategies to improve wellness.

This programme is targeted to members of the community who are concerned about the wellness of fellow community members and who want to raise awareness about the risks of type 2 diabetes.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

NCEA Level 1 (including Literacy 10 credits and Numeracy 10 Credits at Level 1) OR Equivalent academic achievement OR On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 (or equivalent including TOEFL).
