The focus is on both theoretical knowledge, and an understanding of the application of that knowledge in professional information technology practice. * It is designed to develop knowledge and skills in professional information technology practice, building on those attained in undergraduate study in the computing field. * It enables student to make a solid start in higher level, constructive and functional applications of information technology knowledge and skills. * It encourages flexibility, acknowledging the diversity of information technology environments and the diversity in learner interest and needs.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
One of the following an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computing or similar; or an undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT-specified 11-point achievement-based grading system), subject to assessment by the programme coordinator; or at the Dean s discretion, where an applicant s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.
