What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification will provide the sport, recreation and exercise industries with individuals that have the in-depth knowledge and skills required to operate in leadership roles.

Graduates will be able to operate within a framework of health and wellness in relation to individual, group and community needs.

Graduates can apply their skills within the sport, recreation and exercise industries to contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To gain entry to the New Zealand Diploma in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-sector)(Level 6) programme, learners must provide evidence of the following: * New Zealand Diploma in in Sport, Recreation and Exercise (Multi-sector)(Level 5) or educational equivalent; OR * Demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge. Special admission Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements may be given special admission if they can provide evidence that they are capable of achieving the programme outcomes. Special admission may also apply for applicants over 20 years. For applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required. International applicants for whom English is not their first language will be required to show evidence of language competency, issued within the last two years. The level of competency required is: IELTS score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language Level 4 with an endorsement of either [use as applicable General, Workplace or Academic] or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related Rules (Rule 18) - The Table. * An IELTS score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language (Level 4) with an endorsement of either General, Workplace or Academic, or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related Rules (Rule 18) - The Table.
