What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to operate under direct supervision in support roles within and/or across the sport, recreation and exercise industries.
Graduates will be able to operate within a framework of health and wellness in relation to individuals, groups and community needs.
Graduates can apply their skills within the sport, recreation and exercise industries to contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
The entry requirements for this programme are: Academic Requirements: There are no general academic entry requirements for this programme. It is however strongly recommended that applicants have completed the requirements for Literacy and Numeracy for NCEA Level 1 or equivalent. Applicants must be physically able to cope with the range of demands of personnel working in the sport, recreation or exercise sectors. Information to students At the time of application and in the initial interview students will be advised of the possible industry Police Vetting requirements depending on the company and the role they undertake. All organisations working in the childcare sector, including OSCAR and YMCA, will require Police Vetting prior to employment. Applicants will also be advised that: Some employers now have policies that may require drug testing either pre-employment or on a random basis post-employment. English Language Requirements Applicants must have sufficient competence in the English language to undertake the programme which is taught and assessed in English.
