What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the creative industries with individuals who have the skills and knowledge of DJ and music production to perform in community and professional contexts.

Graduates can apply their skills to contribute to cultural, social, and economic outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand, and emerging trends in music production.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To be eligible for admission to this programme, all applicants must meet three admission requirements: Requirements for either General, Special, or Discretionary admission Any additional Programme specific requirements English language requirements To be admitted to this programme all applicants must meet one of the following requirements: 1. NCEA Level 1 o Minimum of 12 NCEA credits in each of the four approved subjects o Also refer English Language requirements below 2. Have completed four years of secondary education 3. A recognised, relevant Level 3 qualification Preference will be given to applicants with NCEA Level 2, Merit or Excellence passes in Physics, Mathematics, and Music. Consideration will be given to students who progress through other TPP/MAINZ/SIT programme pathways (e.g. Foundation Sound and Music). Special Entry may be granted where evidence exists that the applicant can successfully complete the programme.
