About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the seafood processing sector with people who are able to work as operators carrying out routine operations involving either seafood processing, live holding, cleaning and sanitation, or logistics in a seafood processing operation on land or at sea.
This qualification is suitable for people who wish to work in the seafood processing industry, and to provide formal recognition for the skills of those already working within the industry.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision with responsibility for their own work outcomes.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
There are no minimum academic requirements for entry. English language requirements: All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to undertake this programme, which is taught and assessed in English. Those students whose first language is not English should have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall academic score of at least 5.5 (with no band score lower than 5.0) issued within the last two years, or equivalent. Other requirements: It is recommended that applicants be currently employed within a commercial fishing operation and/or have ongoing access to fishing vessels to enable the guided learning and practical evidence verification whilst at sea.
