What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Toa Rangatira and Te Āti Awa with kaikōrero who are able to engage at intermediate level in whaikōrero to strengthen and reinforce the integrity of the paepae, uphold the mana of the hapū and contribute to the cultural wealth of their hapū and iwi.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Programme: Applicants are to have a minimum of a conversational level of te reo Maori, an understanding of tikanga and kawa and want to be engaged in learning whaikorero to support their marae and hapu. They are to be identfied by their kaumatua and/or supported by their hapu for entry. Te Wananga o Raukawa: For admission to any of the programmes, applicant must be able to satisfy the kaihautu of the programme, the academic baord and Te Mana Whakahaere that they have the background that is appropriate to undertake the programme successfully. No formal qualifications from educational institutions are required for admission. However, a demonstrated interest in the particular programme is expected. A strong desire to become bilingual should also be demonstrated. At enrolment the applicant will be counselled on the requirements of study and on the commitment necessary to complete a programme of study.
