What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for people seeking to develop broad practical and theoretical knowledge consistent with tikanga and reo across a range of Ngā Toi.
Graduates of this qualification will contribute to Aotearoa as practitioners by applying a broad range of skills and knowledge relevant to one Ngā Toi.
Graduates will have developed set of fundamental knowledge and skills and be able to operate under limited guidance.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

10 NCEA Level 1 credits from any literacy domain (English or Te Reo Maori) OR a pass in school certificate English and/or Te Reo Maori OR NQF qualification of equivalent or higher level demonstrating achievement in the above discipline areas OR for students over 20 years of age, life skills and/or work experience demonstrating equivalent ability/experience. All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Applicants whose first language is not English must have demonstrated an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. Ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply), completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 3 with an applied or academic endorsement), approved scores on IELTS tests (Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5), or completion of an accepted international equivalent.
