About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand organisations and communities with graduates who have intermediate level user computing skills, and can be employed in a range of roles, operating effectively with skills that will meet standard professional conventions and be internationally relevant.
This qualification may build on existing skills and can be used to recognise the achievement of relevant knowledge and skills by those already employed.
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills to enable them to proceed to further study and contribute to society by supporting digital proficiency and using their digital capability in a range of community and voluntary areas.

Minimum requirements
Applicants must: Domestic Students - o Be at least 16 years of age o New Zealand Certificate in Computing (User Fundamentals) (Level 2) [Ref: 2591] or the New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Foundation User) [Ref: 4132] and/or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. o Students may be assessed prior to enrolment to ensure they have adequate literacy, numeracy, and academic skills to achieve the outcomes of this programme. International Students - o Be at least 18 years of age o o Require IELTS 5.0 (Academic) with no band less than 5.0 (Academic) or NZCEL Level 3 (Academic or Applied) or equivalent level of English as specified by NZQA Rules. Academic Prerequisites * New Zealand Certificate in Computing (User Fundamentals) (Level 2) [Ref: 2591] or the New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Foundation User) [Ref: 4132] and/or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. * Completed New Zealand Year 12 (NCEA Level 2); or * A minimum of 3 years secondary education and demonstrate adequate level of Literacy and Numeracy, preferably Step 3; or *NZ University Entrance All Applicants will participate in a pre-enrolment interview. Enrolment is subject to the approval of the Head of Academic Department.
