What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the Bachelor of Māori Advancement is to advance global well-being through self-determination, intellectual sovereignty and contributions of consequence to iwi, hapū, whānau and self. The qualification equips tauira with culturally relevant practices that advance mātauranga Māori. In doing so, it provides a framework for engaging with the bodies of knowledge and theories that are critical to the understanding of the fields covered in this degree. In addition, this same framework can be reapplied over and over again through life as new bodies of knowledge are encountered and engaged with.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
The entry requirements for this programme are: He Waka Tangata (Certificate in Community Innovation - Applied); or A level 4 programme of at least 120 credits; and/or A demonstration of equivalent knowledge and skills based on successfully completing a pre entry interview. New entry requirements have been added to reflect the specific entry requirements for Te Paritûtanga o Te Reo strand. These are as follows in the Tikanga Ako Marau:- As an alternative to the entry requirements for Bachelor of Mâori Advancement, tauira for the degree with a strand in Te Paritûtanga o Te Reo may be granted entry if they have gained one of the following qualifications:- a National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) Te Reo Rangatira Level 2; or a National Certificate in Educational Achievement (NCEA) Te Reo Mâori (Level 3); or a Certificate in Te Pûtaketanga o te reo (Level 4); or an equivalent te reo Mâori qualification of 120 credits at Level 4; or a Diploma in Te Ara Reo Mâori (Level 5); or Te Aupikitanga ki te reo Kairangi (Level 6)
